Confirming what was inevitable and widely reported, Germany international Toni Kroos has made his move from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid official. The 24-year-old has signed a six year contract believed to be worth €30 million and will earn €6 million per season in salaries. Interestingly, his contract was set to expire next year which would have made him a free agent.

The first transfer of Real Madrid’s summer was made official today after days of interaction and much reported interest by the Madrid side. The official release said,

Real Madrid C. F. and FC Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the transfer of Toni Kroos, who will join the club for the next six seasons.

The player will be presented today, 17 July at 17:00h in the Royal Box at the Santiago Bernabéu following a medical.

Toni Kroos will then step onto the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu for the first time in a Real Madrid shirt, and will then attend the media in the pressroom.

He has been holidaying in Mallorca post the World Cup triumph in Brazil. This makes Kroos a player who has won the World Cup with Germany; German Bundesliga, German Cup, Club World Cup and European Super Cup, all in the past year with Bayern Munich.

We will have the quotes and images from his unveiling later today.
