Real Madrid Castilla’s Ruben Sobrino has joined Ponferradina who will be playing their upcoming season in the Segunda division. Ponferradina are managed by Jose Manuel Diaz who managed Real Madrid Castilla before Zinedine Zidane took over.
Having been a Real Madrid player from the onset, this will be his first move away from the Madrid club after playing two years with Castilla.
He was taken on Real Madrid’s tour of the US playing in the International Champions Cup. He came on as a substitute, in the first game against Inter Milan, for Raul de Tomas.
In an official statement on the Ponferradina website, they said:
Ponferradina SAD has reached an agreement with Ruben Sobrino Pozuelo. Sobrino joins the White-Blue for the 2014/15 season.
Sobrino, 1992, Daimiel (Madrid City), plays as a forward, initially started in the Sporting School of Daimiel, then continue to grow in the junior categories of Real Madrid CF.
He is expected to arrive on Monday, under the services of Jose Manuel Diaz, after going through medical tests.
