The statement on Levante website read:

Real Madrid C.F. and Levante U.D. have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Keylor Navas, who will be linked with the club for six seasons.

The player will be presented on Tuesday, August 5, at 13:00 in the Royal Box of the Bernabeu after undergoing the relevant medical tests.

Subsequently, he will step on to the pitch of the Bernabeu in a Real Madrid shirt and attend to the media in the press room.

The Costa Rican goalkeeper arrived at the Levantine entity in 2011. With work, perseverance and humility, Keylor waited for his opportunity with professionalism and took each chance to play in the eleven. His participation in goal for more or less, made him a revelation in Spanish football.

In a historic season for the club in 2012/13, for the first time in club history, participated in a European competition, the Costa Rican keeper, besides playing in the league and the Copa, was also in charge of safeguarding the side in the Europa League, where his great performance showed to all. Last season Keylor played a total of 39 games at the highest level which was continued with his performance for Costa Rica in the World Cup in Brazil.

From Levante UD, we want to thank him for his great professionalism and wish him the best of luck in his career.

By special request of Keylor Navas and Levante UD, and with the consent of Real Madrid, he will go to the capital of Turia in the coming days to say goodbye to Levante and its fans.

With Keylor Navas coming in, the debate and the intensity of letting either Iker Casillas or Diego Lopez will intensify. Though it does imply that Jesus Fernandez is not in the picture and may leave the club too with a few clubs in Spain interested.
