After putting pen to paper on a five year contract with Juventus, Alvaro Morata thanked the Real Madrid fans for their support and love in an open letter published on the Real Madrid website.

He said,

To the entire Madridismo,

With the following lines, I want to thank all of you for the support since I arrived here at Real Madrid.

I walked through the doors of this club as a child and since then I have been part of it as a family. I take with me the love of the fans who always supported me, in good times and in bad times. I take with me the friendship and professionalism of my teammates and coaching staff, from the first till the last; all of them have been essential in my career and helped me to grow day-by-day and be where I am today. I carry in my heart the love of all the people in this home, especially those at Real Madrid City, where I was welcomed like a son six years back and have educated me.

I want to thank the president, Florentino Perez, and his board of directors, who have always supported me and have now provided me with an opportunity to start an adventure with another legendary European club.

I have defended this badge from the first day with the same passion in defeat and in victory. I take the values of this club - companionship, solidarity, effort and delivery… and always fight until the end, as we were taught the great stories of Real Madrid, especially Don Alfredo Di Stefano. His last game was also the last thing I played with this shirt and I will never forget it.

I don’t know what I should say when I am leaving you all and Real Madrid. I just want you all to know that I gave everything at each moment because that is what this club asks of you and that is what makes it so great.

A big hug and to all the Madridismo,

Hala Madrid!
