Real Madrid Castilla suffered their first defeat of the pre-season with a 4-1 defeat coming at home to Alcorcon in the fifth pre-eason friendly. Having won three and drawn one so far, Castilla were also on a run of four consecutive clean sheets which got broken today.
Castilla started the game with: Yáñez; Fran, Llorente, Derik, Caballo; Marcos, Medrán; Burgui, Benavente, Belima; Markkanen
Alcorcon dominated the first half which finished 0-0 but there were chances at both ends as Castilla enjoyed plenty of possession and had moments of scoring but always lacked the end product.
In the second half, that final product was delivered early by Burgui who provided an easy assist and a tap in for Legaz (who replaced Benavente).
However, that’s where Castilla started to crumble in defence and Alcorcon made most of Castilla’s lax and lethargic defending.
Bellvis chested in Alcorcon’s equaliser after a miscommunication in defence and the striker converted from Alvaro Rey’s pass.
Alcorcon took the lead in the 69th minute thanks to Mayor who scored an absolute belter from outside the box. David Rodriguez added a third for Alcorcon a few minutes later and by this time Castilla looked hapless and out of it.
The rout was completed by former Madridista Oscar Plano who made most of a hasty throw by Yanez near the edge of the box and the defender was quickly tackled by Plano who slotted it in with his left foot.
Castilla have a lot to improve on the defensive front while there are good combinations in the middle and further up front. Fernando Hierro who was present at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano wouldn’t have been pleased to see that.
