Post game comments from Real Madrid’s 3-0 win away to Athletic Bilbao.

Assistant Coach – Aitor Karanka

We earned three points in a very complicated stadium. Today’s match was much more important than it appeared because of last weekend’s slip up. Now it’s time to think about Wednesday’s match against Tottenham, which is a very good team.

Today you saw just how deep this squad is. Every player is capable. This is the most important part of the season and every player feels important.

Kaka was amazing. You can tell just by watching him run and seeing his facial expressions coming off a string of injuries. It’s important that he is feeling good. He played a great match. We have a lot of important games ahead and he will be of great help.

Using Pepe as a midfielder was an option for this match. The head coach has known him for a long time and knows that he can play well there. I think he did very well today and helped the confidence of the center-backs.

Di Maria gives 210% any time he plays. He never takes it easy. He opened up the match with his speed, dribbling skills and vertical play.

This isn’t the first time I have offered a press conference; more like my tenth. It’s different than what most other clubs do. The head coach is not disrespecting anyone, especially when it comes to an institution like Athletic.

Iker Casillas

A long time has passed since I debuted here. Time has flown by, but playing here is always special. After the Bernabeu, this is the most special stadium with a unique fan base. The pressure that always exists while playing here helped us stayed focused from the first whistle.

We are going to continue thinking about winning and earning points so that no one believe this league is over. It will be hard to win, but you never know what can happen. One play or mistake can change everything.

The Champions League comes before the Clasico. It appears that we will go through, but anything can happen. Let’s talk about Barça after the match in London.

Esteban Granero

We are working hard and today played a very serious match. We need to win every match and today will followed through.

We would love to meet Barça in the semifinals, but we first need to beat Tottenham.

The team surprised a lot of people. We knew how to react and we may have pulled off a big surprise. We worked on this with the coach during the week. The coach had prepared it during training and the team pulled it off.

The coach knew Kaka could help, which is why he started him.

I wish the team good luck against Tottenham. It’s a shame I have to sit out because it’s such an important match, but I know they will do well. I wish the team lots of luck.

I need to work hard to enjoy football again. The only problem was with my knee, which limited me from playing all out. I need to work hard down the home stretch of the season. I hope to have fun playing football. I feel like I owe it to Real Madrid and the fact that I haven’t fulfilled expectations bothers me.

I am grateful to Mourinho for everything he has done to help me. I have no problem with him whatsoever. He is a great coach and he is helping me grow as a footballer.

Of course Real Madrid can beat Barcelona. We can win La Liga, the Copa and the Champions League, but first we need to focus on Tottenham.
