  1.  What a fantastic way to start off the season. 6-0 win away to La Romareda against one of the sides who managed to beat us last season. In the process, Real Madrid equal their biggest victory margin in the league when playing away. Last time also, in 1987, Zaragoza was on the receiving end with the game finishing 7-1 (via @InfrostradaLive)
  2. Ronaldo starts this season the way he ended the last season – by scoring goals. A hatrick to start off the season with two of them being simple tap ins. On his way to 60 goals then?
  3. Zaragoza got it all wrong. They barely made in roads into our goal. Had the tactics all wrong. Casillas was required to make only one save the entire 90 minutes and nothing in the second half.
  4. A huge positive from the game would be the number of chances that we created. We had 39 shots of which 16 were on target. Shows how attacking we were in play.
  5. On the downside, however, 39 shots taken and 6 goals scored. Didn’t make the most of all the chances that were being created. Was not a problem last night but could be when we’re facing a much stronger side.
  6. The defense, like Casillas, was barely bothered. Pepe, Ramos, Carvalho and Marcelo all were pretty solid as Zaragoza failed to move forward in numbers for a continuous period. Carvalho got the booking counter going for the season though.
  7. Kaka scored an extremely fantastic goal. A right footed screamer past the goalkeeper. Maybe he deserves more time off the bench than what he gets now? Yes, I think it’s highly difficult for him to be a starter for us. With his performance he deserves to start for any top team but over Ozil and Di Maria, I doubt it.
  8. The combination of Ozil, Marcelo and Ronaldo continues to be fantastic. Their intricate passing and build up play is like a well oiled machine.
  9. High praise here for Zaragoza’s goalkeeper Roberto Gago who made some extraordinary saves to keep the final score to a six. This could have easily reached a double digit game!
  10. Roberto aside, Benzema also wasn’t on his best during the 76 minutes he played. Had plenty of chances but he didn’t make the most of them. Some included one on ones which he ought to do better with!

Overall, a great game and a great start to the season. What did everyone make of the performance and the game?
